Kittens

I am a kitten and my classroom is in the crèche.

I started here when I was 6 months old and that was 12 months ago.

Our teachers are
Carol and Merriam and they love me to bits.

As soon as we get to school we have delicious breakfast, which I can paste all over my face, and then its music time. What a din we make. I can bang on a drum as hard as I like and it makes Carol laugh and laugh.

Then it's the best time of all - messy activities. There are crayons to eat, paint to splash all over the place, playdough to munch on, and glue to stick everything that comes our way.

You can come and see the works of art, as they are all up on our classroom walls.

We spend all morning touching, tasting, looking, smelling and exploring our little world.

We sing and clap, crawl and walk , dance and march. We have dress up days and my Mummy sent in funny clothes for me to wear. You should have seen me in our big mirror. I didn't even know it was me!

The other day Carol let us play with the bunny and the tortoise. We wanted to chase them round the playground, but Merriam said this was too cruel.

If you want any baking done, you must come to our class on. We sit in the flour, spread it all over the place, eat the butter, and the currants, but we can mix up eggs so well. We never get to take our baking home, as we eat it as we go along!

On Spring day all our Mommies decorated huge wheelbarrows with beautiful flowers and we sat in them wearing our spring hats. Carol and the mommies wheeled us down to the big school and we joined in the Spring Parade.

However, don't think I am always in a good mood. If things don't please me I can scream and shout and everyone knows to keep out of my way.

Outside our classroom the world is so big and we get taken for long slow walks to see the animals who live at our school. There are big pigs and huge horses and geese that hiss and flap their wings as we go near them. The last time we went for a walk I collected 100 bugs, and 400 leaves, but I couldn't carry them all. I like to examine every stone and twig, just in case I need it for my collection.

Carol says we must look at all kinds of things and I feel so safe and happy when she is with me.

Come and see us, but if we are busy doing puzzles or building blocks I may just have to ignore you.
