I am Catharine Athey the computer teacher at Broadacres farm school.
I have a H.Dip.Ed in Primary Education, supported by 10 years teaching experience. While teaching, I spent 4 years running a computer centre, consisting of 30 computers, printers and various software packages. I have since employed my skills and experience into my own business - Computer Aided Teaching School.
The fun and informative curriculum developed by myself prepares the pupil for primary school education. I have two children age 6 and 4 who have excelled from using the programme. As computer literacy is fast becoming an integral part of your child's education it is a highly recommended extra-mural.
During morning sessions at the school the children are taught basic computer literacy on lap top computers as well as vital educational skills through the medium of educational apparatus. Specially designed computer programs are used which will help your child to master the following skills and give him/her a head start in education:
- Mathematical concepts
- Speech and language development
- Visual & auditory perception, analysis, memory & classification
- Problem solving
- Spatial perception and awareness
- Cognitive skills
- Creative development
- Fine motor & hand-eye co-ordination and development
- Logical thinking and reasoning.
Basic computer literacy, etc. The above mentioned perceptual training is very stimulating, enjoyable and educational.
Children must be 4 Years or older.
Computer lessons are held on a Tuesday at 10:15am-11:30am.
