Louise Mitton

Louise was born in Pietermaritzburg and after 23 years came to Johannesburg.

At first she was not at all impressed with the place but now loves the vibe and will never go back to Natal. She obtained her National Higher Education Diploma in home economics and taught the subject for 7 years.

She has owned her own pottery studio for 15 years and was given an award from the Roodepoort Art Society for a plaque that she made. She featured in the magazine - Ceramics in South Africa 1985 - amongst 124 potters.

She has sold pottery overseas and has held many exhibitions.

Louise has a son who is an electrician, another who is an engineer in computer systems and a daughter who is studying event and conference management. Louise loves to garden, sew, paint and to draw.
